4 Tests of a True Man

In Genesis 42 Joseph was a prince in Egypt. His brothers were standing in front of him but did not know that he was Joseph, their brother whom they had sold into slavery.

Five times in that chapter his brothers said to him, “We are true men.”

Joseph then gave them four tests to determine whether or not they were really “true men.”

A true man is a real man who has allowed God to cleanse his life of lying and dishonesty and deceitfulness.

The 4 tests which Joseph gave them are still tests that God Himself uses to find out if a man is a true man:

• the test of honesty
• the test of confession of sin
• the test of loyalty
• the test of humility
