Spiritual Warfare Through Offenses

We are in a war. The enemy wants to defeat you by getting you to agree it was justified.

His weapon: **OFFENSES**

Jesus' Promise: "Offenses will come"

God allows offenses for a positive purpose:

  • To humble us
  • So He can give us His grace
  • So He can exalt us

Biblical Example: Syrophoenician woman - if easily offended, never received healing for her daughter.

Your Choice When Offended:

  • Take it personally → GET OFFENDED
  • OR: "God is giving me grace to move forward!"

"The destiny God has for man unfolds or dies at the junction of offense."

When someone gets offended: Think, "What phenomenal blessing did they just lose?"

Testimonial:

"I've been a pastor here for 18 years. I've never had a message that so positively affected our church as 'Are You Offended or Unoffendable?'"

Good thoughts about coming out of a trial to honor the Lord.

We actually watched "Nothing Shall Offend Them"

We had this order shipped to my parents in the US as we live overseas, and we were combining the order with gifts for our adult children in the US. So, we have not yet been able to actually watch all the DVDs personally. We expect to find them as helpful as the other ones we have watched. :-) I DID tell my parents to feel free to watch any of the ones they want before they bring them down to Suriname with them this summer. They normally spend 1-2 months in Suriname each summer between college semesters at Crown.
