The most important clothing for the Christian is not the clothing of the body—it is the clothing of the soul.
The Bible presents at least five types of clothing for the soul. Once a person is properly clothed spiritually, they will naturally want to understand what constitutes proper clothing for the body.
Inner Clothing Relates to Outer Clothing
Those who claim that outer clothing is unimportant to God need to remember this: Clothing was the very first area God addressed with Adam and Eve after they sinned. This shows how seriously God takes the issue of how we present ourselves outwardly.
Human Reason Is Not Enough
Since it is impossible to determine proper clothing standards by human reason alone, we must turn to God's Word for answers.
